Woodward Hooded Shawl Free Crochet Pattern

I love hoods. I would put them on everything if I could. I am sure you have heard me say that before and are wondering why it took me so long to make a shawl with a hood. I mean.. how did I not think of this sooner?

You can make this in your favorite team colors for those weekend football games as the weather gets cooler.

And while this pattern is intended for two colors, you can get creative like my tester Terri did and use 3 or even more colors.

HOOD:

USING COLOR A

From center magic circle, count 19 sts on each side and place marker.

Row 1: Rejoin Color A at marker and sc 38 sts across to next marker, Turn.

Rows 2 – 18:  Ch 2 (acts as first dc), 37 dc across, Turn.

Fasten off leaving approx. 12 “ tail

Using long tail, whip stitch top of hood together. You can also sc or mattress stitch this seam if you prefer.

Add a pom pom like my pattern tester Shannon did for a fun accent.
