MATERIALS:

Yarn 7 skeins: Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/8

Weight: DK

Yardage: 82 yards(75 meters)

Unit weight: 50 grams (1.76 ounces)

Hook size: 5.0 mm (G)

Fibers: 100% Cotton

Texture: plied

Size: S-M, heart (width) – 29 cm, length – 46,5 cm, width – 55 cm

Stitches Used: ch-chain, sl st-slip stitch, sc- single crochet, dc-double crochet, fpdc-front post dc, picot, popcorn stitch
IMPORTANT: make an example before you start this project – a heart with a row of picots, measure the heart and your shoulders (place the measuring tape at the tip of one shoulder and wrap it all the way around you until it meets back at the same shoulder. The tape should skim the top of your shoulders so closely it almost slips off).

Your measurement = the number of hearts. The number of hearts = 5 circles. If you want a smaller top to choose the yarn 8/4 or 8/6 It depends on your size. If you want a bigger top crochet more hearts.

PATTERN:

Start crocheting a heart. You’ll need eight hearts for the sizes S and M.
HEART:

Row 1 (right side): 17 chs, sl st in the 1st ch, 34 chs, sl st in the 17th ch from the hook, ch-3, dc in next 18 chs (18 dc in the circle), dc in next 8 chs, 2 dc with ch-1 between in next ch (bottom of the heart), dc in next 8 chs, dc in next 18 chs (18 dc in the circle)

Row 2 (wrong side): ch-5, turn, skip next dc, dc in next dc, (ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc) rep once; (ch-2, dc in next dc) rep once; ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc; (ch-2, dc in next dc) rep twice; ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc; ch-2, dc in next dc; (ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc) rep three times; 2 dc with 2 chs between in next ch-1 space; ch-2, skip next 2 dc, dc in next dc; (ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc) rep three times; ch-2, dc in next dc; ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc; (ch-2, dc in next dc) rep twice; ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc; (ch-2, dc in next dc) rep once; (ch-2, skip next dc, dc in next dc) rep twice.

Row 3 (right side): ch-3, join with sl st to the inside part of the heart’s bottom, turn, dc in the 1st dc, 2 dc in the 1st ch-2 space, * dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch-2 space **, rep from * to ** 14 times (to the bottom of the heart), dc in next dc, 4 dc in next ch-2 space (the bottom of the heart), dc in next dc, * 2 dc in next ch-2 space, dc in next dc **, rep from * to ** to the last ch space, 3 dc in the last ch space, join with sl st to the inside part of the heart’s bottom (102 dc)

Fold 2 halves of the heart the right sides facing each other. Join with sl st (6 sl sts) 2 sides of the heart from the wrong side.

Row 4 (right side): sl st in next dc, sc in next 2 dc, picot, * sc in next 3 dc, picot **, rep from * to ** until you’ll reach 23 picots, sc in next 2 dc, ch-2, join with sl st to the 1st sc

CONNECTING

Crochet a heart. The 2nd heart join to the 1st heart while you crocheting the last row to the 6th, 7th and 8th picots this way: (ch-1, sl st into the 6th picot of the 1st heart, ch-1 and finish the picot, sc in next 3 sc of the 2nd heart) rep twice.

Join 4 hearts into the circle – the 1st row. The second row of the hearts are upended hearts. Join them to the 1st row and don’t forget to leave the places for the sleeves.

CIRCLES TAPES

Row 1: ch-5, sl st in the 1st ch, ch-3, 6 dc into the circle, * ch-8, sl st in the 5th ch from the hook, sl st in next 3 chs, 6 dc into the circle **, rep from * to ** until you reach 20 half-circles

Row 2: work 7 dc into the 20th half-circle, sl st in the place between 2 circles, * 7 dc in next half-circle, sl st in the place between 2 circles **, rep from * to ** until you reach the 1st circle, make 7 dc in the last circle, join with sl st to the 1st st AND join with sl st to the first circle

Start working in the rounds

Round 3: ch-6, sc in the 4th dc, ch-3, * dc in the place between 2 circles, ch-1, dc in the same place, ch-3, sc in the 4th dc, ch-3 **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row, dc in the place between 2 circles, join with DC to top of ch-3

Round 4: ch-3, 4 dc in ch-1 space, finish the popcorn st, ch-3, fpdc in next sc, * popcorn st in next ch-1 space, ch-3, fpdc in next sc, ch-3 **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row, join with sl st to the 1st popcorn st

Round of the connecting the circles to the hearts

Round 5: ch-1, 3 sc in next ch-3 space, ch-1, sl st to any picot of the heart, ch-1, finish the picot,  3 sc in next ch-3 space, * ch-1, sl st to next picot of the heart, ch-1, finish the picot, 3 sc in next ch-3 space **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row, join with sl st to the 1st ch

Cut the thread. Back to the top rounds of the circles. Connect the thread in the place between 2 circles and repeat Round 3. Next round repeat Round 4 but make 2 chains between popcorn stitches and fpdc to make the top narrower in the shoulders.

The last row: ch-1, * 2 dc in next 2 ch-2 spaces, picot **, rep from * to ** to the end of the row, join with sl st to the 1st ch

Connect the bottom circles to the hearts in the same way. Repeat Round 3-5 for the outer part of the circles.
