Sheep Wagon Shawl

all photos by Christa Tippmann Photography
modeled by Raceine Tippmann

This generous shawl, knit from a richly colored blend of wool and recycled silk, is created with a simple 2-row pattern repeat. Worked from the top down, it is one you will want to wrap yourself in as soon as summer's warmth passes.

    1. Hello there, sm means slip marker. I hope that helps!

  2. Hi, will you end up using a full 175 yd skein for each color? I can't use wool and the cotton I bought only comes in 150 yd skeins. I brought extra for the gray only, will that suffice?

    1. I did use most of the yarn for each color. The tricky thing about substituting with other yarns and fibers is that the gauge can chance. The good thing is that this is a top-down shawl, so I would suggest working until you are almost out of yarn and then bind off! It is a pretty friendly pattern so that should work!

  3. What is the weight of the yarn used? i.e., worsted, fingering, etc. I love the pattern, but since no gauge guide is given for sizing want to make sure I use an appropriate yarn.

  5. On row one how are you supposed to *k1,yo* twice and then be able to k1 again?

    1. You have 3 stitches so you will knit 1, yarn over, knit 1, yarn over, and knit 1.

  6. You need to take this pattern off this site as it is only for FREE patterns. You go to ravelry and there is a price for the pattern - I don't blame you for that. It is a nice pattern and you should be paid for showing it.
