My Nana taught me some basic crochet stitches when I was a little girl. I lost my Nana when I was still young and cherish the memories of our time together. Cut forward 20 or so years. I'm a wife and mother of an incredible young man. I worked full time for many years, and little by little health issues began creeping in. By the end of 2010 the creeping had run me over, and I had to stop working. I now had lots of time on my hands, and no energy to get out and enjoy it.
I had to find something I could do even when I was stuck in my recliner. Then it came to me....I could crochet without expending too much precious energy! I dug out my Nana's hooks and bought some yarn. I spent the next 6 months really learning how to crochet. Pretty quickly everyone in my life had new hats, scarves, gloves....and the projects were starting to pile up. I had never considered myself to be creative, but all of a sudden I had ideas coming out my ears!
I got hooked on making baby clothes. So many possibilities and almost instant gratification. The only problem was I didn't know enough babies to justify my output. I had to find an avenue to share my creations, and support my growing yarn addiction.
A friend told me about Etsy and I decided to check it out. It took a few more months for me to get the nerve to open a shop. I spent that time accumulating inventory I felt was worthy enough to charge for.
After I opened my shop it took a few months to make my first sale. I was so excited! And then I made another, and another, and another. And the rest is history. I typically have an average of 150-175 items for sale in my shop ranging from baby clothes, hats and blankets, to ladies accessories.
As of January 2015 I released my first original crochet pattern. I have plans for many more patterns to come. I'm busy testing, testing, and retesting my instructions and taking pictures.
I'm so happy you found my shop and took the time to read my story.
Happy Crocheting!
