how to crochet | little roses stitch plus free pattern

You know I’m a fan of the single row repeat, right?

You know my palms get sweaty and my fingers start to itch when I see a really (really) pretty single row repeat pattern, right?

OHMAGAWD! I saw this Little Roses stitch in The Complete Stitch Directory (vintage, no author, will try and find a link to a second hand copy for you so if you can click on the title then I’ve found it), and I immediately (actually immediately not made up immediately) worked up a swatch.

Isn’t it THE BEST.

I used Scheepjes Stonewashed for all my swatches in this stitch. Also for the video tutorial and the free baby blanket pattern - bit obsessed.

I think it really shows off the stitch well, something to do with the marled effect, also it’s quite nice to crochet with (although a bugger to rip back)!

I also used a 4mm hook and I’m sure I will be asked so can tell you that the hook I used in the tutorial is from Pedro’s Plaques on Etsy. Stunning isn’t it and my new favourite hook by about a million miles.
