The Coffee Cup Pullover is the perfect top to wear to the coffee shop to grab a hot tea or coffee! Crochet yourself a top-down pullover with adorable coffee cup stitches that decorate the yoke. This pattern was crocheted with Furls Whims Merino Yarn and has incredible ease in fabric! The Coffee Cup Pullover features 6 sizes, and its flattering shape is sure to become a staple in your closet!

ABOUT OUR DESIGNER

Special Stitches
Double Bouillon = treble crochet in the st 2 rounds below, working on the post of this treble, [yo, insert hook under post of treble, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops] 5 times, yo and insert hook into next st, yo and draw through all loops on hook.

 

PART ONE

Let’s get started with this cushy double-brimmed Collar! In part one, you get to gather your materials, including Furls Whims Merino Yarn, and your favorite 5mm Furls hook. Then, get crocheting the first 5 Rounds. After this, we’ll move on to the Yoke for Part 2 where you’ll get the chance to crochet those adorable Coffee Cups!

Collar

Round 1:  Ch 92, (96, 96, 96, 96, 96), join with a sl st to form a ring, ch 1, hdc in each ch around, join--92, (96, 96, 96, 96, 96) hdc.

Round 2:  Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join.

Round 3:  Ch 1, working in 3rd BLO, hdc in each st around, join.

Round 4:  Repeat Round 2.

Round 5:  Ch 1, folding Collar in half around Round 3, sc in BLO and through foundation ch around, join.

Continue to Yoke in Part Two

PART TWO

Part 2 might seem like a lot, but don’t worry! This is the fun part where you’ll get to try that cute Coffee Cup Stitch that I refer to as a Double Bouillon St! Be sure to read the Special Stitches Section, and follow the stitch exactly to get the right result! Yoke

Round 1:  Ch 3 (counts as a st), dc 9 (7, 7, 7, 7, 7), 2 dc in next, *dc 10 (8, 8, 8, 8, 8), 2 dc in next; repeat from * around, dc in remaining sts, join--100 (106, 106, 106, 106, 106) dc.

Round 2:  Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc 8 (7), 2 hdc in next, *hdc 9 (9, 9, 9, 8, 8), 2 hdc in next; repeat from * around, hdc in remaining sts, join--110 (116, 116, 116, 117, 117) hdc.

Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), working in 3rd loop, dc 11 (9, 9, 9, 7, 7), *dc 12 (10, 10, 10, 8, 8), 2 dc in next; repeat from * around, dc in remaining sts, join--118 (126, 126, 126, 130, 130) sts.

Round 4:  Ch 2, hdc 40 (44, 44, 44, 46, 46), [Double Bouillon over next 2 sts, hdc 4] 6 times, hdc 41 (45, 45, 45, 47, 47), join.

Round 5:  Ch 3, dc 11 (11, 11, 11, 9, 9), 2 dc in next, *dc 12 (12, 12, 12, 12, 10, 10), 2 dc in next; repeat from * around, dc in remaining sts, join--127 (135, 135, 135, 141, 141) sts.

Round 6: Ch2 (counts as hdc), hdc in next 12 (11, 11, 13, *hdc in next 13 (12, 12, 12, 11, 11), 2 hdc in next; repeat from * around, hdc in remaining sts, join--136 (145, 145, 145, 152, 152) sts.

Round 24:  Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join.

Place working loop on st marker, continue to body (Part Three).

 

PART THREE

For this section, we’re going to create those underarm chains to create spaces for the sleeves, and the Body of your Coffee Cup Pullover! This part is quick and easy, and very fun to work up! I hope you are all enjoying the cal so far, happy crocheting! 

Body
Underarm Chains

From center back, not counting turning ch, *count 32 (35, 38, 42, 45, 46) sts, mark this st. Beginning in next st, count 42 (44, 46, 52, 56, 56) sts, mark this st. Beginning in st to the right of turning ch on back, repeat from *. This marks off 64 (70, 76, 84, 90, 91) sts for back/ front and 42 (44, 46, 52, 56, 56) sts for each sleeve.

With separate strand join yarn at right back marked st, ch 4 (6, 8, 8, 10, 10), sl st to right front marked st, fasten off. With separate strand join yarn at left back marked st, ch 4 (6, 8, 8, 10, 10), sl st to left marked st, fasten off. 

All Sizes

With RS facing, pick up live loop.

Round 1:  Ch 3 (counts as dc), *dc in each st to added ch, skip sl st join, dc in BL of each ch, skip sl st join; repeat from * once, dc in each dc to end of round, join--136 (152, 168, 184, 200, 202) sts. 

Round 2:  Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in each st around, join.

Round 3:  Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st around, join.

Rounds 4-33:  Repeat Rounds 2-3.

Fasten off. This will measure approx. 14½” from underarm. Feel free to work more or fewer rows to reach desired length

Rounds 34-35: Sc in each st around.

 

PART FOUR

 

Welcome to the home stretch, the Sleeves! These sleeves are easy breezy, you’ll have them done in no time flat! Feel free to make them longer or shorter to fit your body type, or try a short sleeved version for warmer weather. I can’t wait to see yours! 

Sleeve

With WS facing, join yarn in unworked loop of 3rd (4th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 6th) underarm ch.

Round 1:  Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each ch, dc in each st of sleeve, dc in each remaining ch at underarm, join--46 (50, 54, 60, 66, 66) sts.

Round 2:  Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in each st around, join.

Round 3:  Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st around, join.

Rounds 4-32:  Repeat Rounds 2-3. 

Rounds 33-34:  Sc in each st around.

Fasten off weave in ends.
