Poliana means “meadow” in Bulgarian, which perfectly describes the lace in this bathing suit. Poliana is a sexy, yet demure bathing suit that is meant to suit all body types and personalities. It can be adjusted in infinite ways. You can make the bottoms cheeky or with fuller coverage. And you can mix and match top and bottom sizes to fit your specific body type. It can also be worn halter style with an open back, or with crossed straps at the back.

It is comes in US terms and with lots and lots of very helpful pictures.

Materials
YARN: Between 600 - 800 m of fingering yarn (amount greatly varies depending on the size).

Recommended to use elastic yarn. Sample used 2 balls of Alize Diva Stretch (92% Microfiber Acrylic, 8% Elastane)

HOOKS: 2.5 mm or size needed to meet gauge

NOTIONS: a tapestry needle, beads and Lycra fabric for the straps (optional)

Sizes + measurements
This pattern comes in 5 different sizes for bottom: XS, S, M, L and XL. And 7 different sizes for the top: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and 3XL.

Garment is to fit the following body measurements:

Hips: (XS) 33 - 34 in (83.5 - 86 cm), (S) 35 - 36 in (89 - 91.5 cm), (M) 38 - 40 in (96.5 - 101.5 cm), (L) 42 - 44 in (106.6 - 111.5 cm), (XL) 46 - 48 in (116.5 - 122).

Bust: (XS) A cup, (S) A/B cup, (M) B/C cup, (L) C/D cup, (XL) D/DD cup, (XXL) DD/E cup, (3XL) E/F cup.

These measurements are to be used as guides and will depend on how much coverage you want and how wide your body is overall. For example, a 32B cup might use a S, but a 38 B cup might prefer a M

I mostly work with two materials for tops and bikinis.
One is 100% cotton yarn, which looks more bohemian and rustic, and is very comfortable to wear as it holds its shape better, but might get a bit heavy in the water.
I also work with elastic yarn, which is 92% Microfiber. This acrylic yarn is stretchy and keeps its shape much better in the water and also dries quicker. It's lighter and thinner, which means that the stitches might separate when stretched. Lining is recommended with this yarn.

Fo bikini top sizes, measure your favorite bikini and compare it to the chart provided in the listing pictures. Choose the one that is the most similar in size.

You can also measure your BUST (over your breasts through your nipple and around your body) and your UNDERBUST (right under your breasts around your body) and include these measurements in your order. I can then figure out your bra size from there.

The pattern wasn't well written compared to other patterns that I've purchased here on Etsy. I spent a lot of time writing notes on the pattern before I started. I'm used to different stitches being explained in the notes part of the pattern. I got to a part that I couldn't understand, and reached out to seller asking for her to explain it. She responded stating that no one else has an issue understanding and that she had pictures. I needed the instructions for the stitch in that part. 🙄 I will never order another pattern from this seller again.
