Easy Crochet Triangle Shawl details

This crochet triangular shawl pattern is easy to customize. The main body is worked in one piece from the top down, increasing on each side and in the middle to form a wide triangle. There are 4 repeat rows that you will crochet until the shawl reaches your chosen size. It is very suitable for beginner crocheters and uses only basic crochet stitches.

You can use a worsted weight yarn or a dk weight yarn for a winter shawl or a light weight yarn for a delicate summer shawl. Add a fringe or some tassels for extra flair!

The Yarn Options for Crochet Triangle Shawl

I used Dahlia Mixo from Hobbii Yarns a beautiful cake yarn with a varied play of colors. The yarn consists of four thin cotton strands in four different colors. Each color runs through the entire skein, which creates a really pretty effect. I had 3 cakes of this yarn and decided to create a striped shawl using the 3 shades of red, orange and pink that complimented each other so well.

I used a 4mm crochet hook but you may prefer a smaller hook eg 3.5mm. Swatch a few rows and see which hook size suits your tension.

You can use 800 – 1000m of any fingering weight yarn or yarn weight of your choice and matching hook. Just crochet the row repeat until your shawl is the size you want!
