Moffat Tee: Free Crochet Summer Top Pattern

Ever want a cute and simple top that you can wear anytime of the year? The Moffat Tee is just the crochet pattern you need! This stylish and beginner friendly free crochet top pattern will be your go to top all year long. You’ll love wearing it on evening walks or lounging at home. Wear it with jeans, a skirt, layer it, or any way you want. The best part about this top is that it comes in sizes infant all the way to adults! I spy a mommy and me set in the future for this pattern!

I am so excited to have Mickyla the Maker back here on my blog as a guest designer! She is sharing her free crochet Moffat Tee pattern with you, and I think you are going to love it. If you even want to get the kit for this design, you can get the hand dyed yarn she used (info is in the supplies list). So, I’ll hand things over to Mickyla, and she can share her Moffat Tee crochet top pattern with you!

Hey!! My name is Mickyla Jackson! I’m a 26 years old wife and mom to three from the lovely Portland, Oregon. I began designing patterns as a hobby, and now I do it as a business! I’ve been designing crochet patterns for almost three years and knit patterns for one year. Lately, I’ve also started crafting embroidery stitch markers for fun! My main goal as a designer is to make each of my patterns accessible and fun! All of my garment designs are size inclusive (ranging from XS-5X) and I’ve started writing each pattern with both “Mini” and “Adult” size categories to make sure you can have all the Mini and Me makes!  I feel so privileged to be a part of the maker community and The Moffat Tee is my gift to you!

The Yarn

I made The Moffat Tee using hand dyed yarn from The Fiber Faerie. I’m in love with blush and speckled yarn, so when I reached out to her to do a collab, she totally delivered. She even agreed to do kits for The Moffat Tee, so make sure you check out her website to see what kits she has to offer! I originally wrote this pattern in December when we were in Africa visiting my husband’s family. His sisters love crop tops so I went for it and made them each a shirt for Christmas. For those tops I used Paintbox DK Cotton, which is a favorite of mine. Cotton works well for this project, but if you want a tee that is a little less gapey, I’d go for a wool blend (like the kits from The Fiber Faerie) or an acrylic yarn (I love Jeans from Lionbrand).
