Optional  : Belt

The belt is an option that I added as I re-created the dress for the pattern.

Make a foundation chain, multiple of 4 sts, enough to wrap around the toddler’s waistline and to create a knot and bow and if after the 1st row there are still an excess chain, you might cut it out and use this technique on How to unravel the sts.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch3, sk next 3ch, *sc in next ch, ch3, sk next 3ch, rep * across foundation chains.

Row 2: Ch3, turn, 2dc in the same st, sk next 3ch sp, *sc-ch3-2dc in next st, sk next 3ch sp, rep * across, in last st work 5sc and 2dc, continue on the other side as shown in photo below, sk next 3ch sp, rep *to* across,in last st work 4sc  end w/ sl st in 1st sc to join.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

If length is enough, make sure to dry the dress by laying flat after washing. To increase the length, hang to dry.
