Easy Ribbed Turban with Bow (Free Crochet Pattern)

Dear fellow crocheters,

I'm excited to share with you my newest hat design, the Easy Ribbed Turban (with bow)!

The Easy Ribbed Turban is a quick and beginner-friendly hat pattern, which has additional instructions for adding an optional bow applique.  Simple stitches make up this stylish, boho beanie.

It’s a true fashion statement that is trending with top knot headwraps right now.  It’s also practical, comfortable, and will keep your head warm during the chilly Fall and cold Winter seasons!

This accessory is great for selling at craft fairs as it’s so quick to work up, and also makes a perfect birthday, holiday, and/or Christmas gift!

It works up fast with medium weight yarn held doubled, and you can have lots of fun with mixing and matching two different colors!  I used about a half skein of the beautiful, Lion Brand Heartland in "Yellowstone".  I just love the heathered, tweedy shade, and mustard yellow is one of my obsessions!

The size I made is for adults, though it can easily be adjusted to fit different head sizes!  Check out my Hat Sizing & Measurements Reference Chart post to download the free printable chart.

Want to make this in ALL SIZES?

Since I've gotten a lot of inquiry about this pattern in other sizes, I've decided to go ahead and add on all sizes for this pattern!  This includes: newborn (0-3 months), baby (6-12 months), toddler, child, teen, and adult.  Click HERE or the image below to get to the pattern page, where you can find the download links.

Custom sizing note: At this point, my hat measures 6.5” in height and will measure 7” when the last round (R14) is complete.  If a lengthier hat is desired, such as one to fully cover the ears, add two more rounds (go to R15 instead of R13).  Doing so will result in a finished hat that is approximately 8” in height when R14 is complete.

Work in FLO. Ch 2, dc 36. Sc into the corresponding st between R8-R9 to create a “pinch” in the hat (Tip: fold the hat in half to find the midline if that’s easier). Then, dc in remaining 35 sts. *Join.
