Step 1

Color Tip

Consider the color of your floor when picking yarn for this piece. Choose a yarn in a shade that contrasts with your existing floor, to be sure the giant lace pattern will really pop.

Color Strategy: Neutral Anchor

If you crave a project with a ton of color, such as a motif afghan, but you want to be sure the end result won’t just look like a random hodge-podge, use one neutral color as an anchor. Black, grey, white or tan are all classic choices. You may want to use your neutral as the center and outer round of all of your motifs, or mix it in more randomly. Either way, one recurring neutral shade is a great way to tie together many disparate colors.

I have worked through row 16 and am also stuck on row 17. Could you please verify the directions for row 17. Is there a row of instruction missing?

I'm stuck on row 3. What does this mean?
24 dc and 8 ch-2sps, do not turn.

WHERE do I do the 24 dc and 8 ch??
Is that 3 dc in each space with 1 sc in between each one? Then what does the 2sps mean?
This pattern is not real user friendly.......

This pattern has so far made a very pretty rug, but the pattern has some mistakes in it, and is, in some places, very confusing because of it.

Would you mind telling me how to correct the mistakes? I've finished row 16, but row 17 is killing me. It's just not right ...

This is beautiful. I've been looking all over the web for a large Doily. I am going to use this for my wall. I have a half a wall, and wanted this for it. So I am going to start on this pattern now, After I make this for myself, I will make one for my children.
