Crochet Christmas Bulb Cover Pattern

I think that these would be the absolute perfect ornaments to make a dozen or 2 of and hang on your tree! You could make these Crochet Christmas Bulb Covers in any color scheme! You could do red and gold, blue and silver, red and green, or even off white or Ivory. I’ve even seen a lot of pink and blush tone Christmas decor in the stores this year, so that is also an option!

I bought some Plastic Bulbs from Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. When I bought them, I had a different project in mind to use them for. I was sitting at my desk and had a little leftover red sparkle yarn and the bulbs were sitting there, so I crocheted this cute little Christmas Bulb Cover in a matter of minutes!

You could literally make dozens of these to cover your Christmas Tree in no time!

I really like using yarn that has this metallic sparkle in it. It really adds to it. I even made one in pink metallic!

I used clear plastic bulbs. Mine were 2.65” tall. If you use larger ones, I would just go up a hook size or 2 and that should fine!

Things you will need:

• I Love this Yarn in Red Sparkle Metallic
• Clear Plastic Bulbs. Mine were 2.65” in diameter.
• 4.25mm Crochet Hook
• Yarn Needle
• Scissors

Abbreviation:

• ch = chain
• mc = magic circle
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• dc = double crochet
• dc2tog = double crochet 2 stitches together
• t = turn
• st = stitch (es)
• Sl st = slip stitch

Go!

Round 1: 10 dc in mc, sl st to join (10)

Round 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join (20)

Round 3-4: ch 2, dc in each st around, sl st to join (20)

Round 5: ch 2, * dc, dc2tog* repeat * to * around, dc in last 2 st, sl st to join (14)

Place bulb in the cover

Round 6: ch 2, dc2tog all the way around, sl st to join (7)

Cut yarn and hide the tail.
