So, I’m sure that my 2 cats and dog just love me for sure now, lol. You can see by their expressions that they seem just thrilled, haha! Actually, the only one that didn’t seem to mind too much was my orange cat, Tigger. She purred and wanted to play the whole time I was trying to get her picture.

Tigger

She actually loves the attention. The other 2 didn’t seem as happy, but they are adorable.

Things you will need:

  • Any Worsted Weight yarn. I used I Love This Yarn in brown, red, white, yellow, tiny amount of black and the orange yarn was crafters secret (It doesn’t take very much, scrap yarn might work)
  • Hot Glue Gun (optional)
  • H- 5.00mm Hook
  • Yarn Needle

Notes:

  • My hat measures approx. 11’’ in circumference and fits my cat approx. 10 lbs and dog approx. 14lbs
  • Depending on your size of dog/cat you could probably go up or down a hook size to adjust it to fit.
  • On round 1 for the hat, you can easily ch 37 and hdc in the second ch from hook and in each ch st around instead of the fhdc but the fhdc will stretch more.
  • I hot glued all the pieces to the hat but you could easily sew them. Hot glue was just faster for me.

Abbreviation:

  • ch = chain
  • T = turn
  • Sc = single crochet
  • Fhdc = foundation half double crochet
  • Hdc = half double crochet
  • ● Hdc2tog = half double crochet 2 stitches together
  • Sc2tog = single crochet 2 stitches together
  • Dc = double crochet
  • Mc = magic circle / ring
  • Sk = skip
  • St = Stitch(es)
  • Sl st = slip stitch

Go!
