Ties ~

As same end as you finished off, you will be working down the side rows from the waist.

First tie ~

Join yarn in the same st as you finished off.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc 4 sts evenly down the first 1″-1 1/2″ of the side row.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc across. = 4 sc

Repeat row 2 until the tie measures 40″ from the beginning of row 1. Finish off

Second tie ~

Join yarn on opposite side of waist in the same manner.

Repeat rows 1 & 2 for 12″. Finish off

Weave in ends.

Finishing ~

It is important to block this project.  You can use either the wet or steam method.

Finished size ~

Waist 43″ approx       Hips 48″ approx        Length 17″ approx

How to change the sizing

To change the sizing of this project you can decrease or increase the beginning chain by increments of 3, it is approximately 1″ per 3dc shell which is an increment of 3. Your end stitch count will change so note the amount you increase or decrease and add or subtract that to the end of each row for the totals.  The ties can remain the same… but you can also make them longer or shorter as desired.

Congratulations… You now have and Amazing Grace Bathing Suit Wrap!!!

To wear ~

Bring skirt around your back, have even amounts of the waist(not including the ties) on each side. With the longer tail, wrap it around your front and insert the end of the tie from the inside of the skirt through to the outside. Pull tail through. Wrap the long tail around the waistband around your back and tie it to the short ended tail.  Adjust the skirt  to the desired position.

And of course my faithful helper always love to get in the picture…..

  1. This is lovely Elena! Printing, and will order from your affiliate link~
On another note…..for some reason, I HAD been subscribed to your site for a while, and am not sure when or why I stopped receiving email updates; however, after seeing this (and a couple of other absolutely Fab patterns I would love to share with my Agape Women’s Ministry Group….& turn them on to your work *wink* *wink*), I became instantly aware that I had not seen Any emails from you in quite a long time! So, I just decided to re-subscribe, and that didn’t work out too well for me (boo-hoo….:( ) ~ Can you help me get hooked back up?
The response I received when I put in my email was something to the effect that “The email had been unsubscribed”. I’m sure I didn’t do that, but I did make a switch within my outlook and it has been causing all sorts of fun glitches~
Thank you So much for all you do Elena! Wave Hi for me at the big Mt. Miss Her~

Thanks Kim, I don’t have a way to manually add you. Check you email settings and see if you have any sites blocked or anything…

  2. Your pattern is so beautiful, unfortunately, I do not have the need (or body!) for a bathing suit wrap so I have borrowed your stitch to create a sweater for my granddaughter for school. That sweater is pictured in Fava74 projects as Pretty in Pink. I just wanted to let you know & thank you so much for the inspiration.

Just be careful not to make it a published pattern with this stitch… this stitch series is my Amazing Grace Stitch Pattern and I use it as my copyrighted pattern for the entire series…
