Crochet Shell toddler Pullover Pattern

This post includes affiliate links - Please see my disclosure policy for more info.

Hey everyone! Today's pattern is this super cute, stylish pullover pattern for toddlers and i have designed it with a roll neck and used some super big buttons to hold everything together in place.

Normally when designing crochet patterns like this you would make it so the sides are seamed together to hold everything into place but i really didnt fancy that, i wanted something slightly different, so when i came across these large buttons, a light bulb came on and i thought YES! i need to use these buttons to hold this pullover together on the sides and to my delight it worked! and then designing the roll neck was just abit of a bonus i wasnt really planning on that bit if i am honest but hey it worked and its one of my most popular patterns so i am glad everyone is loving it!

If you have been keeping up with my blog you may have seen i have another pattern like this using large buttons again to hold the pullover together - If not get over there now! I dont want you missing out!

I have been asked a few times if I will be designing an adult version of this, YES i will be (how exciting) it will be in the near future.. I promise.. I have lots of older patterns to release for you first and then i will get designing my lovelies.

Please share this pattern using the social media icons below so others can enjoy this free pattern too!

Clare xoxo

  4. What is the age range this would fit? 1-3 years?

    1. Hi Lori! Yes, the model in the picture was age 3 at the time and it's classed as oversize, so if you wanted it for a younger toddler like age 1, maybe go down a hook size or even change the weight of the yarn to worsted or aran.

      Hope that helps.

  6. I'm super confused. I'm self taught and still at beginner level. In rows 2-19 when you say work (2dc, 2ch, 2dc) in the next 2ch space, does that mean I squeeze all 6 stitches into one stitch? Or do I spread the 6 over 2 stitches?

    1. I realized I probably just confused you. The space is where you crochet the stitches into. It makes the shell panel. On the previous row when you (2dc,2ch,2dc) you are making a little"space" with the yarn. On the next row when it says to (2dc,2ch,2dc) in the next 2ch space you are going into that space and not the stitch. Going into the space will make the little hike more noticeable. Hope this makes sense.
